Project overview
This project addressed the highest-priority items identified for Oakview Park in the district's ADA transition plan. Routes from both parking areas were rebuilt to meet current slope and cross-slope standards, and accessible tables were added at both shelters.
The Board accepted the work as complete on April 14, 2026. Final cost came in at $511,300, about five percent under budget.
Scope of work
- Rebuild accessible routes from the Oakview Avenue and Southgate Road lots
- Restripe accessible parking stalls and add van-accessible spaces
- Install five accessible picnic tables across both shelters
- Replace restroom fixtures, hardware and signage
- Add a ramped route and a ground-level activity panel at the playground

Project updates
Board accepts the project as complete
The Board accepted a notice of completion on April 14. Final cost was $511,300 against a $540,000 budget, and the remaining funds returned to the capital reserve.
Work complete and park fully reopened
All shelters, restrooms and the playground reopened March 27. Post-construction measurements confirmed every new route meets the running and cross slope requirements.
