Project overview
The original North Creek play structure reached the end of its service life and no longer met current safety or accessibility standards. The replacement adds a ramped composite structure, ground-level play panels, an accessible swing bay and a poured-in-place rubber surface that provides a firm, stable route to every play event.
The design was selected from three concepts presented at two community meetings in February and March 2026, and reflects the option preferred by 61 percent of the 340 residents who responded to the accompanying survey.
Scope of work
- Remove the existing structure, surfacing and concrete curb
- Install a new composite play structure with a ramped accessible route
- Install ground-level activity panels and an accessible swing bay
- Place poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing throughout the play area
- Install a shade sail over the toddler play area
- Rebuild the accessible route from the parking lot to the play area
