Project overview
The community center has operated since 1988 with its original roof, mechanical systems and restrooms. This renovation addresses all three, brings the restrooms to current accessibility standards and adds a north entrance so the classroom wing can be reached without crossing the event hall.
Work is phased so the building stays open. Oak Hall remains available for rentals throughout; individual classrooms close for two to three weeks at a time on a schedule published a month in advance.
Scope of work
- Full roof replacement with added insulation
- Replace rooftop HVAC units and the building management system
- Rebuild all public restrooms to current accessibility standards
- Add a second accessible entrance with automatic doors on the north elevation
- Replace interior lighting with LED fixtures and occupancy controls
- Refinish the Oak Hall floor and replace stage rigging
