Fairview Dog Park Shade and Water Improvements

Adding a second shade structure, replacing the water line and resurfacing the small-dog section.

Project phase

  1. Planning (current phase)
  2. Design
  3. Procurement
  4. Construction
  5. Completed

Project overview

Fairview Dog Park has one shade structure serving both enclosures, which leaves the small-dog section without shade through the afternoon. The water line running to the dog fountain has failed twice since 2024 and needs replacement rather than further repair.

The project is modest but frequently requested. It is programmed for construction in summer 2027 after the water line design is complete.

Scope of work

  • Install a second shade structure over the small-dog enclosure
  • Replace the water service line and both drinking fountains
  • Resurface the small-dog section with new decomposed granite
  • Add four benches and two waste station posts
